The Emergency Paediatric First Aid Training seeks to convey to participants the knowledge and skills required by those who mightEmergency Paediatric First Aid Training encounter a medical emergency situation in the home or class while teaching or caring for children who are under their responsibility. 

People who complete the course will be able to provide urgent care in an emergency and safety measures are also highlighted to decrease the likelihood of accidents in classes and schools.

This course is suitable for people who care for children in any professional setting and is specifically aimed at qualified early years childcare staff.

Suitable for anyone working with children from birth to 8 years.

Class Objectives

The class has been designed to impart a wide spectrum of knowledge spanning the basic principles of immediate action to be taken inEmergency Paediatric First Aid Training emergency situations, and consolidating such knowledge through the discussion and hands‐on practice of numerous common scenarios.

After successful completion of the class, each participant should be able to:

  • assess an emergency situation quickly and calmly;
  • protect him/herself, bystanders and casualties from danger;
  • assess the condition of all casualties and identify the need of immediate care;
  • administer appropriate care for life threatening injuries relative to consciousness, airway, breathing and circulation;
  • deal with other major conditions mainly bleeding, shock, burns, fractures, difficulty in breathing, fever, seizures etc.
  • obtain medical aid and seek medical care when necessary;
  • comfort and reassure casualties and bystanders.

Training Equipment

1. Baby & Child manikins
2. AED Trainers
3. Anti-choke vests
4. First aid training kits (containing one triangular bandage, non-adherent pads, a gauze bandage and a pair gloves) per participant.

 

Class Duration & Location

Duration:   8 hours exclusive of a 45 minute break (15 mins & 30 mins)
Start time:  9:00am prompt
It takes place in our office in Ojodu

 

Assessment and certification

Each candidate is continually assessed throughout the class, with such an assessment being based on participation, verbal questioning Emergency Paediatric First Aid Trainingand analysis of practical techniques carried out. There is a test at the end of the class that must be passed before certificates are issued.

 

Certification

Participants will be issued a Certificate of Completion of Emergency Paediatric First Aid.

 

Cost

N20,000 per individual (includes snack and lunch)
