First Aid Classes For Expectant or New Mothers
An ‘expectant or new mother’ is a woman who is pregnant or has given birth within the preceding three months. Nobody likes to think of their child being in an emergency situation, but learning first aid will give you the confidence to be able to help should you need to.
Who is it for?
This class is for you or the baby’s carer and will guide you through exactly what you need to know.
What you will learn?
With the First Aid for Expectant or New Mothers class, you will learn all about first aid as it applies to babies. You will also learn valuable lessons on how to prevent serious injuries.
The course duration is 3- 4 hours and will cover topics such as unconscious breathing and non breathing child (CPR), choking, burns, severe allergic reactions, cuts/scrapes, fever, seizures, poisonings, nose bleeds, and anything else your little one could get themselves into.

First Aid For New Babies – Topics
- Drowning at bath time/ baby not breathing (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for a breathing & non-breathing child))
- Fever in babies
First Aid For Babies Around 6months – Topics
- Severe allergic reaction
- Febrile convulsions (seizures)
- Foreign object in nose or ear
First Aid For 9months and older – Topics
- Head injuries
- Burns and scalds
- Falls and trapped fingers
- Foreign objects in nose and ear
- Accidental poisoning
- Cuts, grazes and severe bleeding
- Injuries from toppling furniture
- Strains and sprains
This 3 – 4 hour class will give you the skills and confidence to deal with all the above and more!
Assessment and certification
The cost of the First Aid Classes For Expectant Mothers is a minimum of N50,000 for Parents & a Caregiver. It costs an additional N15,000 per extra participant.
